Planning a dive trip for new year's week. Belize looks good/cheap/easy to get to, etc. Need suggestions as to where to go, where NOT to go, and how to not get killed there. Thanks!
Amrbergris Caye in Belize is a good place to go. You would fly into Belize City and take a puddle jumper over to the island. Turneffe Caye is another option. Don't expect wild nightlife on either island but they are great for relaxation and diving.

Where would we get the best service on the island? We'd like a place where a dive master accompanies us to point out all the sites. And we'd like a shop that takes trips to the blue hole.
There are many shops and DM tends to accompany you on all dives. My suggestiion: Amigos del Mar.
