My husband just decided to change our usual trip to Flordia to go to Hilton Head! We have a one year old, and a four year old. Would this be a good place to go with 2 small children? How is the beach? What else is there to do there?

My family is currently looking into taking a vacation sometime this year in SC. Hilton Head looks like a great place for beach fun with small children. Any information you could provide such as places to see, stay and play as well as weather would be much appreciated.

Defending Heritage champ glad Hilton Head event is set for 2012

The Heritage Classic Foundation used all its reserve funds, tournament director Steve Wilmot said, to stage last years tournament, won by Snedeker in a three-hole playoff over world No. 1 Luke Donald. Snedeker joined a group of pros who worked with RBC Heritage tournament director Steve Wilmot to find sponsors who would keep this event alive. Snedeker said he and others called PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem and other tour leaders to make sure they knew how important Harbour Town was to the players. I think the tour had never run into that kind of support for a tournament before, Snedeker said. And for a while, it looked like Snedeker might be the last golfer in history to slip on the Heritages signature plaid winners jacket and hoist the trophy on the 18th hole, framed by the red-and-whited striped lighthouse. It wasnt only a few days later when Snedeker realized how fragile the Heritages financial status was, his smiling picture on the cover of a golf magazine with the words Uncertain Future as the headline.
