My husband and I are from Toronto, and are interested in purchasing a townhouse in Naples as a family vacation home and rental property. The townhouse is new and is being sold by the builder. How is the real estate market in Naples? Is it less affected by the sub prime problems? Have the property values
It is my understanding that the majority of Florida has been hit very hard in these challenging housing markets. You best bet is to call a Realtor in that area and ask some questions.

I am looking to rent a condo on the beachfront or very close to beachfront in Naples, Florida for a 2 week family vacation. My problem is I've never been to Naples so I don't know what part of Naples I should be looking in. I'm sure some parts are better than others. My other problem is that there are

Tourism season returns with a vengeance in Naples
Last month, hotel occupancy increased 11 percent and the average daily rate rose more than 8 percent year-over-year in the county. In December, 122,000 visitors stayed in hotels and other vacation rentals in Collier County – up more than 15 percent from the same month a year ago. At the same time, visitor spending rose nearly 20 percent to $117. Hotels, restaurants and shops are doing more business than they were a year ago. So I think that's a good sign," said Jack Wert , executive director of the Naples, Marco Island Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau. It's season, and tourism is on the rise in Southwest Florida. More tourists are in town and they're spending more money. They seem to be spending money a little better.
