Is it safe to bike around San Diego near the beach ?

I'm going to San Diego for a vacation with my parents in about a month and I really want to bike around. They're concerned that gangs and people will jump me or something. Does anyone live near San Diego that could let me know if it's safe to bike around the beach or something without being harmed ?

Oh my gosh! There are so many people that ride bikes around the beach in San Diego. Gangs and crime aren't really a problem during the daytime considering the crowds, and they still aren't a true problem at night either. Pacific Beach and Mission Beach,

California women visit Gulf Coast for TV show

The 30-minute episode filmed in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach was distributed to PBS stations earlier this month and should start appearing on schedules soon, according to PineRidge Film & Television Co. in Jacksonville, Fla. "The beauty of this show is that every time you bring someone here, we create a new ambassador," said Herb Malone, president and CEO of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism. Local and state tourism officials are equally excited about the San Diego resident's response. On Aimee Cebulski's first visit to the Gulf Coast, she fell in love with the sunsets, the white-sand beaches and the food, but most of all, the people. The program showcases vacation rental destinations across the United States including Oregon, California, North Carolina and Florida. Cebulski and three girlfriends spent five days here in October as participants in "Getting Away Together," a new TV series airing on PBS member stations nationwide.
